George Abidbol was born the 24th of December 1985 in Beyrouth. Autodidacte photographer, since the age of eight he develop a passion for images, his first esthetical encounter with art was established with the work of Alberto Giacometti.
Avid traveler, his photography is instilled from his walkabouts and opens a metaphysical dimension.
He travels initially in France, then in Madrid - Spain, later he became a wine merchant in the City of London. Back in Lyon, he co-founded a webzine about parisian electro-pop music called Les Tambours.
During 20 years, he travels in numerous countries and accumulate hundreds of images throught the years (USA, Vietnam, Thailande, Singapour,Malta, Croatia, Tasmania, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherland, Germany, Portugal, Turquey, Scotland, Ireland, Tunisia, China)
In 2011, he lived one year in Australia travelling around the island, he worked as a photo editor and graphic designer. In 2020, he auto-publish his first book "Pas Terne", abstracts black & white photographies that creates minimalist patterns and geometrical shapes. We follow a persona wandering lost in the middle of a maze of indistinct geography and undefined spatio-temporals limits.
In parallel to his photography practice, he practice drawing.
Educated as an engineer, George Abidbol is passionate about the processus of development, with paatterson box at first then lab-box and cafenol, that gives a special depth to his universe.
In 2023, he produce a serie 'An archipelago of Silence' in which he creates an imaginary world from within humdreds of images taken through the years.
